Bilousenko Yulia - Kryvoy Natalia, Zhytomyr, Porject: Socialization of female students, including young mothers

Socialization of female students, including young mothers, through raising their awareness of employment opportunities and acquiring assertiveness skills through training program.

The project's success stories:

• Young mothers and 5th year students of Zhytomyr State University named after I.Franko were taught during the training program that included the following topics: gender aspects of labor, art of self-presentation, assertiveness as the best strategy of successful behavior, time managemnt as a way to optimize time-consumption. The project included watching video "About women's and men's career" with further thematic discussion. Development and dissemination of pamphlet "Basics of successful employment".
• Implemented project showed the necessity to implement similar activities for students. Continuation of the project will be lobbying the permission to introduce this trainings program as an optional course for graduate students of Zhytomyr State University.
• One of participants – mother of two children - found a job of IT teacher in high school. She acknowledged that participation in this project helped her believe in own professional capacities, as because of diffidence and long maternity leave she refused from this position during a year.
• Participant – mother of one year old boy - suffered domestic violence from her husband. After having training program, which among other issues discussed types, signs and consequences of violence, noted that she was determined to improve her situation.
